Tools of the Trade: 5 Tools To Pump Up Your Marketing

If there’s one thing the last year provided me, it was a chance to try lots of different tools and platforms to help my clients succeed in all of their marketing goals. I’ve compiled a few of my favorites in this post.

My Pick for Account Based Marketing - LinkedIn

For high value deals or long sales cycles, targeting key accounts can be an impactful strategy. Account Based Marketing (ABM) has become increasingly popular in recent years, and LinkedIn has adapted their platform to accommodate such marketing strategies. When advertising with LinkedIn, marketers have the ability to seek specific companies and research information that can help them obtain meetings.

My Pick for Web Analytics - Google Analytics

This is probably no surprise! With Google being the number one search engine in the world, their analytics platform provides almost all of the information that savvy web marketers need. From understanding visitors’ behavior to site search and targeting pages for improvement, Google Analytics will help you understand how to improve pages and provides key insights for tactical optimization of your entire website.

My Pick for Demand Generation - Hootsuite

Demand generation and lead generation are not the same. The goal of demand generation is brand awareness and positioning, in order to create an understanding of how your company can help solve a problem. Hootsuite is a great tool for creating the right types of content for that specific purpose. Items like videos, lists, and blog posts create accessible resources that you can manage through Hootsuite, that also tend to perform better in social media. The platform allows marketers to manage all social in one place, as well as track analytics. They’ve also recently integrated with Marketo, to offer more nurturing opportunities for business development.

My Pick for Influencer Marketing - BuzzSumo

Influencer marketing is getting more important, especially in fields that require being viewed as a thought leader. BuzzSumo can help you to understand what content is generating interest as well as find viral content and key influencers. From there you can work on content items that are more likely to resonate with your audience, or work with content creators who are able to reach your target. BuzzSumo has all of the search and measurement tools required to review and improve your efforts.

My Pick for Email Marketing - MailChimp

Email is pretty important to most small or mid-size businesses. Of all the email providers available, MailChimp tends to be the most chosen. One reason is because they allow creation of email campaigns, landing pages, social posts, and more - all in one location. It’s free to start and their intuitive interface makes trying new things easy.

Of course there are more that we didn’t even get to dive into! Check out our post for advice on how to pump up your efforts on social. And if you need help implementing any of the tools I mentioned - just ask!
